April Goals Review

This wasn’t the most successful month I’ve ever had, but I did manage to accomplish a few things off of my list.

Here’s what I wanted to accomplish and an update on each.

Do:

  • Gather ideas and formulate plan of attack for Susannah’s room makeover   – I did work on this quite a bit, although I still don’t have the complete picture in my mind.
  • Complete at least one project for Susannah’s room Nope.  Fail. Although I did buy the materials needed for her quilt/comforter.
  • Grow wheat grass with the girls – Yes, we did!  Although I’m not sure what to do with it now, and they weren’t as impressed with the growing process as I’d hoped.  Maybe next year they’ll be more interested.
  • Attempt at least two new recipes – Yes.  See Caleb’s blog for proof.
  • Have a yard sale to get rid of all the items I purged last month – Yes, this past weekend.  I didn’t make much, and I still have to haul the rest of the items down to the donation center, but I did manage to get rid of some items that were cluttering up my home.
  • Make the girls simple Easter outfits – Yes.  Was that really just this past month?  Seems like forever ago, already.
  • Finish Lucy’s quilt and mail it off Finished, and mailing tomorrow
  • Exercise at least 5 days per week I did really well on this until last week….
  • Mail one handwritten letter per week – Uh….I think I stuck to this for two weeks.  Fail.

Read:

  • A mom after God’s own heart by Elizabeth George – Finished this, and LOVED it! I always enjoy her books.
  • Real Food: What to eat and why by Nina Planck I’m on the last chapter, and also really enjoyed this book.  Now just to convince Jeremy to read it so we can argue about it.
  • Judges 6-21, Ruth, 1 Samuel, 2 Samuel, Luke 8-22 (following a plan to read the Bible in one year) – I’m a tiny bit behind in Luke, but will catch up today.
  • Continue reading a chapter from Leading Little Ones to God to the girls each day – We’ve done pretty well with this.  Probably hasn’t happened every day, but mostly successful.
  • Continue reading David Copperfield (only about 550 pages left!) – I’ve made a little progress here, but I’m still nowhere near done.

Learn:

  • Memorize Colossians 1:23-29, 2:1 – Ugh.  I’ve had the hardest time with memorizing the past few weeks.  There are a few verses that just DO NOT make sense to me and I can’t remember them for anything.  I may scale back to one verse a week.  🙁
  • Memorize two verses with the girls – Nope.  Forgot about this one completely

Be:

  • Content – definitely something I need to work on – Well, it’s a work in progress, but I am trying.

So, overall, some successes, but more failures than I’d like to have seen.

I’ll be back later with my list of goals for May.

Anything you’ve been working on lately? 🙂

  1. I love Braum’s! In fact, I don’t live too far from the Braum’s farms – so I’ve been tempted my entire life and you are correct, the pepper burger is fantastic!
