Day 29: The one I read every year

I suppose if you’ve been following my blog for any length of time you’ve probably already heard me mention how much I like Organized Simplicity by Tsh Oxenreider (also know as Simple Mom in the blog world).

organized simplicity

I generally pick this book up every spring when I start getting that weird itch to clean all my windows and throw all the clutter out by the curb.  There are a few reasons I love this little book so much and I will list them out for you.

1. It’s pretty.  I love the photos.  I love the layout of the book.  Looking at it makes me happy.

2. It’s reasonable.  It breaks the fairly gigantic chore of going through the entire house and de-cluttering seem manageable.  (And it is, because I’ve done it several times now.)  It doesn’t make me want to pull out my hair and quit.  Which is saying something.

3. It’s lays out a very simple plan and the results of following the plan are definitely worth it.  I like having an organized, clutter-free, simple home.  It doesn’t always stay that way, and I find myself needing to re-evaluate the things that I let into my house often (and seriously, I’m probably the biggest clutter culprit of all of us), but this book always brings me back around.
