Encouraging Imagination: Rainbow Jello

May 2013 006

So…I know everybody and their dog has made this one, but it’s so pretty that Susannah and I just had to give it a try.

And let me tell ya….it wasn’t easy.  It took FOREVER.  And making it look pretty just wasn’t happening, no matter how hard we tried.  I refrigerated everything between each layer but the cool whip kept mixing into the next layer of jello and making it look pukey.  Boo!

But the girls loooooved eating their rainbow jello, so I can’t say it was a complete failure. 😉  And I guess it’s good to teach them early that not everything turns out how you hope it will…

  1. awwwww. jello is hard to do layers with…once i tried to do berry layers and it ended up a whole lot worse than yours, let me tell ya. I’ve had a grudge against jello ever since.

  2. I think they turned out cute! I really like a ‘shabby-chic’ look to things. It looks like real food, and it still looks pretty.
