Snow Globe Ornaments

I’ve always really loved snow globes so I knew I wanted to try some of the DIY ornaments this year.  I made several different varieties and think I like the baby food jar ones the best, because the actual glass ornaments were a BEAR to get the little trees into.  They’re all pretty though, so I’m happy.

These aren’t ornaments, obviously, but I had some extra jars and supplies.  I wanted to turn the round jar upside down to give it more of a snow globe feel, but the car refused to fit that way. 🙁

The jar ornaments were super easy.  I used the small size baby food jars and glued tiny trees and deer to the inside (found at Michaels).

Add some glittery snow, poke holes in the lids with nails (or drill them), and add some twine to hang them with.

For the glass globes I had to stick the trees in with tweezers and it wasn’t fun.  I gave up after two.

Stick them on the tree and they go perfectly with the rest of our completely random ornaments.  See, there’s a bright side to having not theme! 🙂

  1. Your snow-globes are so fun, love your project. I can see how the jars would make it so much easier to get your items inside. I made some glass ornaments and getting things inside is so difficult!
I saw your project on the Sew Can Do Craftastic Linky Party where I am also partying with my
