Spring 2014 Product Picks

So I realize that spring is pretty much over and gone (as evidenced by the 90 degree weather here), but since the calendar says there’s close to a month left I guess it’s okay to post a spring love list.  😉

Here are the products I’m either already using or big-time coveting right now.

I saw these journals on Amazon at least a year ago (maybe two!) and have been obsessed with them ever since.  You guys know me and my weakness for pretty journals, right? Well…now Target is carrying them.  Must. Buy. All. The. Journals.

This one kind of took me by surprise because so NOT a nail polish person.  I’ve pretty much used the exact same sparkly aqua color for quite a few years.  I occasionally try something else and hate it and go back to my blue.  Also, I’m not usually super impressed with the current trends, but I really do kind of love all the mint and coral that’s been floating around this spring (but not together).  I haven’t bought any yet, but I may break down and actually spend a few dollars to try out this mint color.   And it doesn’t even have sparkles!

I discovered Hazel & Ruby products about 6 months ago and have been eagerly awaiting the release of their new stencil masks. They’re a little bit spendy (I hate paying for shipping) so after buying one stencil set I was saving my pennies to purchase a few of the others…and lo and behold, Michaels started carrying them. Yay for 40% off coupons! 😉

These are going to come in very handy for making canvas art.  Be sure to check out their website, as they have some really cool products available.

I seem to be saying this a lot, but another item I’ve had on my Amazon wishlist for quite a while (literally, years – I first heard about them on Elizabeth Kartchner’s website, which is one of the prettiest blogs around), are these Instax Mini cameras.  And Michaels once again plays the hero and started carrying them recently.  With a coupon these would be a decent deal.  Guess I better keep saving my pennies.  Or maybe I could find someone willing to trade 14 new Smash albums for one? 😉

Next up, Creative Illustration & Beyond by Stephanie Corfee.  I have a serious crush on this book and find myself flipping through it all the time.  I’m going to have to break down and actually TRY something from it soon….

Also making the list of awesome books, check out this bad boy that Jerm got me for Mother’s Day.  Which, hello, has been on my Amazon wishlist (I know, I know, enough with the wishlists!) and he didn’t even KNOW it!  A million brownie points to the husband for knowing what kind of stuff I like without having to ask.

I think I need to go to some kind of addicted-to-journals meeting or something because I can’t seem to stop finding more that I need want. But guys, these are cute AND the pages are kraft paper.  KRAFT PAPER PAGES!

Heidi Swapp items are awesome and get this, I’ve found some of these items for a penny at Michaels!  (Sadly, most of them were regular price.)  These stencils and ink sprays make some pretty cool designs.

Speaking of Heidi’s, I’m a total sucker for the Heidi Grace fabric line. So stinking cute.

I attempted to make my own set of baking strips a few years back, but wasn’t impressed with the results.  I’ve thought about ordering a set about a hundred times, but never did and now Walmart is carrying them.  Considering how much time I spend there, I’m sure a set will make its way into my cart very soon.  And then my cakes will be perfection.  Right?  😉

Speaking of cake, I had to buy this print for my kitchen.  It fits my life perfectly.  (Found it here.)

And finally, because this list seems to be a little craft-heavy (ahem), I’ve been all about the diet cranberry limeades from Sonic this spring.  Forget all that cherry limeade business.  Craberry is where it’s at.  Awesome.

sonic So what’s on your list this season?  It’s fun to hear what other people love, so share your favorites.

  1. Soooo…….why the cameras? What do you use them for that makes them a need? And I’m pretty sure I’ve told you the cranberry lime-aid is pure awesome kapossum.

    1. Uh, the camera is instant, like a polaroid, but in mini. I want one for mini albums and stuff.

  2. Cool stuff. Haven’t had a sonic drink in forever and there is one in my town. I suck,,,, just trying to do better even though it’s NOT paying off.
