Ten Things {Craft Supplies I Love Right Now}

PicMonkey Collage

I know I haven’t shared any new projects lately, but I have been working on a couple of things and hope to put a few up on the blog this coming week.

Here’s a list of the craft supplies that I can’t seem to pass up lately.

  • Journaling Cards – I don’t even scrapbook, although I hope to keep some sort of informal record of my family at some point.  I prefer writing in journals (not that I do it very often!), but I think I would maybe love using Project Life, where I’m pretty sure journaling cards first became popular.  They’re cropping up everywhere, though, and I’ve succumbed to their charm…several times (thanks a lot, daily deal sites and Target!).

  • Glittered Tissue Paper – I’m still loving the tissue poms for parties, so I was thrilled when I found some fancy glittery colors at Walmart the other day while shopping for party supplies for Susannah’s upcoming birthday.  See?  Walmart does have some positive points!   009
  • Paper doilies – just because they’re so pretty.  I’m trying to implement these into the party decor, too!   025
  • Martha Stewart glitter – it’s outrageously expensive, but it lasts forever and nothing else compares.  Jerm bought me this package last week that I’ve been eyeing forever and I can’t wait to have the girls help me make glitter magnets with it!   019
  • Art journals – I stop and look at every single one I see and dream about how I’ll fill it up.  (Even though I have several and haven’t done anything in them yet…)
  • Lace – specifically peach and coral-colored lace.  I love it.   036
  • Felt – it’s versatile and sturdy.  I have an endless number of projects pinned and bookmarked that call for felt.  I’m especially in love with wool felt, and wish stores would start carrying it locally.   043
  • Fuzzy trim – this stuff is too adorable.  I actually stocked up during Christmastime because they were selling this for the mini trees for much less than what you pay per yard in the fabric department (Walmart again!), and it’s the same, exact stuff.  Don’t you just want to touch it?   034
  • Mini paper pads – I want them all!  (And I don’t know why.)   044 046
  • Washi Tape – I’m not one to jump on every new fad, but this stuff is pretty cool.  You can attach it to anything, and I’ve seen some awesome ideas for it online.  I used it to jazz up a boring dollar-store composition book the other day.  Now each page is triple thick, so I can experiment with other mediums.  (See?  Art journal obsessed, I tell you.)   039 041

Your turn! What are your go-to craft supplies? I’d love to know!

  1. I am in love with fabric!! I am in love with recycling clothes, and card making, photo albums, and tye-dye, I am in love with almost everything on Pinterest. I could go on and on but quilting is my major passion!!! I am in LOVE with Washi tape but can’t seem to find any except online and there are always other expenses right now. Maybe someday Joann’s and I will reacquaint! Love your loves!

    1. Joanns actually has some washi tape in their $1 section. It’s not super high quality, but they have some cute prints.

  2. I adore your craft supplies! I am in love with paper doilies, too, but I can’t ever use them to my satisfaction. Probably because I’m the World’s Most Impatient Crafter. And Jeremy bought you GLITTER? Awesomeness! I’ve always loved that Martha Stewart Glitter pack and I’ve never bought it. I think you need to add her Glitter Paint to the pile.

  3. You know I have a couple sets of Martha Stewart glitter…. Just because it is so pretty! Then I get stumped for ideas to use it on and I think in the back of my mind I don’t want to use it, just look at it.

Food Coloring and Crepe Paper Streamers are my go to craft items. I use them to add color to most everything.

  4. I am seriously addicted to your blog! What cute cute ideas. I love these craft project ideas. I think my favorite is the washi tape on the notebook… how cute.

  5. This was actually a really nice post. I enjoyed seeing what another crafter is addicted to. I am getting so intrigued by washi tape now! Gonna have to check it out.

  6. I will be honest,,,, I have only ever bought scatch tape. We are pretty tight if you know what I mean. That’s the extent of my craft talent. TAPE!
