Travel Jewelry Organizer

This jewelry organizer has been on my Pinterest to-do list for-EV-er, so I finally broke down and made one to haul my jewelry on my upcoming trip.  You can find the tutorial here.

It really wasn’t a hard project at all, and I completely skipped the ring holder since I usually only wear my wedding rings.  The earring holder is cool, but I wasn’t sure how well my dangle earring would stay put.  I tried a few different things and and as long as I thread the posts through both holes I think they’ll stay put just fine.

I don’t have a snap setter so I hand-sewed a snap on (makes it much easier to attach/detach earrings), then added a little flower to cover up the ugly side of the snap.

I wish I would have taken the pattern size into consideration before making this, because most of my necklaces are the wire & bead can’t-be-bent variety and definitely will NOT fit in this case.  I think I can come up with something separate on my own for those, though.  (Ha! Wish me luck on that.)

I don’t know why that last photo makes it look so oddly shaped.  It isn’t like that in person.  Whatev.

  1. You have plenty of time between now and October to make one for the other necklaces. I love this one though. So cute!

  2. This is a great idea. I really need something like this to keep my earrings from getting all tangled up when I travel. My pouch just isn’t cutting it. I’d be thrilled if you’d link up at this week’s Off the Hook!
