Trying New Things: Day 6

Day 6: Speaking Kindly

One of the things I hate most about myself: my impatience and unkindness towards my family.  Why is it easy to be rude and mean to those I love most and save politeness for people I don’t know?  Why does familiarity breed contempt?

James 3:8 – But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

My goal for today was simple: speak only kind words.  It wasn’t exactly easy, but not as hard as I thought it would be.  Yeah, there were a few moments when I had to consciously bite my tongue before I responded without thinking, but overall I was able to focus on my goal before speaking.

I think I would benefit from making this a goal every day.

  1. I just caught up on your 31 day challenge. I love the journal idea and would love to start doing something like this with my girl! Also, I love the makeup holder. Super pretty and might just be something that I need to work on. I have a big bag that I put everything in and just pull it out everyday. I don’t use eye makeup remover, because I don’t use waterproof makeup. I really need to however, at least on Sundays because I am usually crying. LOL I might need to try this out. Your doing great. I really like this series of posts.

    Love ya!

    1. I don’t use waterproof, either, but I hate scrubbing mascara off with water. This makes it so easy…I’m all about the easy.
