This was our first week of winter break so it’s been nice and quiet for the most part. I’ve been promising the girls an all-about-them shopping trip (they adooooore the mall) so we spent one wild, hectic day doing that.
For whatever reason, whenever we go to Target this is what they have to do:
They even graciously allowed me to stop at JoAnns and I scored this bad boy that I’ve been coveting for a year now for $15! Pure awesomeness.
I’ve been so “bah, humbug” about Christmas this year. No, that’s not really right, more of a whatever attitude. I’m sure I’ll kick myself for that whenever the holiday season is over and we’re stuck in the awfulness of January. 😉
I wasn’t prepared enough to do all of the projects/activities that I wanted this week, but the girls did get to work on a few things.
Like these super adorable nativity scenes from Made by Joel.
They also made some scrap paper trees.
I saw this desk at a thrift store the other day and I’m pretty sure I’ll cry myself to sleep for a while for not getting it. I didn’t have room for it, but wouldn’t it be so pretty with some fresh paint?
I’m not very political, but out of all the thousands of articles/posts/opinions/etc that I’ve seen this week on the Robertsons I thought this was the one most worth reading. A close second was Ann Voskamps reminder.
Sweetest link this week: this one, hands down.
And this is a reminder that I need every day, because no matter how far from perfect I am, I often forget what really matters in the pursuit of what really doesn’t.
Jerm took me out to Texas Roadhouse this weekend and I decided on a whim to actually order a steak (I usually go for chicken). It was surprisingly good.
My network has been totally freaking out on me this week so I don’t know when I’ll be able to post again. Crossing my fingers that I can get it worked out quickly.
In case I don’t get back on before Christmas, I hope you all have a wonderful holiday!
